4) Dutch Gulf III samples of plankton were preserved in formalin for herring larval studies and other samples deep frozen for dry weight estimation

The ship was forced to shelter in Minch on the due to bad weather, sampling and trawling got delayed on several occasions. The ship put into Greenock on the 30/11/1972 for change in ship's personnel, water and engine repairs leaving on the 01/12/1972.
