1. To recover and re-deploy SmartBuoy moorings at the West Gabbard and Warp and collect calibration samples (AE004). 2. To recover and re-deploy Waverider at Dowsing (C1828). Narrative (all times GMT) Sailed from Lowestoft on the evening tide Tuesday 1st May at 19:00 and proceeded to the Warp overnight. At 06:00 the next morning (2nd May), collected one water sample via Niskin sampler on the hydro wire and then recovered the SmartBuoy. Deployed a new SmartBuoy and took a further water sample. Steamed to the West Gabbard, arriving about 12:00 and collected a water sample before recovering the SmartBuoy. Deployed a new SmartBuoy and collected a post-deployment water sample. As all deployment and recovery operations had been carried out very efficiently, decided to take extra hourly water samples for calibration until 18:00. Proceeded to Dowsing Waverider site overnight, arriving at breakfast time on the 3rd May. Recovered, serviced and re-deployed the Waverider, finishing operations shortly before 10:00. Steamed back to Lowestoft, docking on the evening tide at 20:30. |
