Objectives | Objectives
To download data from the instruments deployed in Loch Shieldaig, Loch Torridon and Upper Loch Torridon. 1. Recover data from and check the Aanderaa environmental data buoy 2. Recover, download and re-deploy four Aandreaa water level recorders 3. Download the CAPTOR environmental data buoy 4. Service and download Davis Monitor II weather station 5. Perform GPS drifter survey 6. Take an SAIV CTD profiles along Loch Shieldaig if time permits Narrative Staff and equipment travelled to Shieldaig on the 14 August arriving in the afternoon. The logging computer, in the Shieldaig Field Station, was checked and the data backed up from the weather station and Aanderaa buoy. The next day the water level recorders (WLRs) were recovered in turn, download and re-deployed. Before recovering the WLRs in Upper Loch Torridon the drogues were deployed in the narrows into the Loch and were collected after the WLRs had been swapped. The drogues were then deployed a second time either side of the fish farm in Upper Loch Torridon as the tide began to ebb. The Aanderaa data buoy was checked and downloaded before heading out to the mouth of Loch Torridon. The WLR was recovered, downloaded and re-deployed. The CAPTOR buoy was then downloaded and the communications settings re-configured to allow remote connection. Arriving back in Loch Shieldaig the drogues were checked before taking four CTD dips along the axis of the loch. The drogues were then recovered before returning to shore. On the 16 August the logging computer was checked and downloaded again before heading back to Aberdeen. | ||||||||||||
