| Objectives | 1) Trawling to sample blue whiting
2) An echo-survey was made to investigate the extent of mid-water traces thought to be caused by blue whiting. The Marconiecho-sounder was run continuously during the cruise 3) 2 Fleets of creels were laid on the edge of the continental shelf 4) A sample of Rabbit-fish was collected for an examination of their possible toxic properties by the Torry Reasearch Station Work had to be suspended at times during the cruise due to unsuitable weather. Work was abandoned from the 07/10/1969 till the 08/10/1969 due to bad weather. The ship stopped at Torshavn from the 10/10/1969 till the 12/10/1969 to repair the ''netzonde'' winch, which was unsuccessful. |
