Measurements
Physical oceanography
Surface measurements underway (T,S)Description: Underway surveying was started using the Undulating Oceanographic Recorder. The surveying was started from approximately off North Killingholme and continued along an axial track following the main navigation channel to seaward.
Surface measurements underway (T,S)Description: Water samples were taken at half hourly intervals from 1m below surface to determine salinity levels and DOC.
Optics (eg underwater light levels)Description: Vertical profiles taken to measure light spectra and light penetration.
Contamination
Suspended matterDescription: Underway surveying was started using the Undulating Oceanographic Recorder. The surveying was started from approximately off North Killingholme and continued along an axial track following the main navigation channel to seaward.
Suspended matterDescription: Along an axial track starting from North Killinghome and following the main navigation channel, water samples were taken at half hourly intervals from 1m below surface.
Suspended matterDescription: Water samples taken at half hourly intervals from 1m below surface to determine particle size distribution.
Biology and fisheries
Phytoplankton pigs (eg chlorophyll, fluorescence)Description: Underway surveying was started using the Undulating Oceanographic Recorder. The surveying was started from approximately off North Killingholme and continued along an axial track following the main navigation channel to seaward.
