PurposeResearch
ObjectivesThe objectives are to deploy moored instrumentation, i.e. STABLE, PMP, Wave Buoy and ADCP frame at the mouth of the River Dee. Also to carry out CTD observations for at least a tidal cycle in the Welsh Channel and the Hilbre Swash, to study turbulence and SPM processes. To Carry out a side scan sonar survey of the Hirbre Swash.

In the following narrative all times are UMT The Prince Madog was loaded on the 7/02/2006, STABLE, and 2 PMP frames with ADCP and CTD loggers. We sailed from Birkenhead at 05:30 on the 8/02/2006, arriving to the Hilbre Swash by 09:00. We carried out 3 lines of the side scan sonar covering most of the Hilbre Swash Channel until 10:30. At 12:40 deployed STABLE , 13:22 wvae buoy in the water 14:09 PMP in the water.we took two grab samples in the STABLE possition, then we followed to deploy stable at 12:40. The PMP with ADCP and CTD was deployed at 13:30. A 25 wahour CTD yoyo was carried out sampling every 1/2 hour, starting at 15:00 and finishing at 14:30 9/02/2006. At 16:56 arrived to the Welsh Channel, we deployed the PMP with the LISST-100 at 17:00. and a 25 hr anchored CTD station was started at 17:30 and finished at 13:00 on 10/02/2006. We then left for Coastal Observatory station station mooring B to recover the telemetry buoy.
