1. To deploy baited fish traps for the collection of live fish for tagging purposes onboard FRV Alba na Mara.

2. To deploy baited fish traps for the collection of live fish for the Aultbea site.

3. To obtain camera footage of fish and trap interaction.

Procedure

Staff will be onsite at Aultbea on 10 April and will operate on a daily basis deploying up to 6 baited fish traps within Loch Ewe from the MV Ardlamont. Baited cameras and the flow meter will also be deployed at suitable locations. Live fish from the traps will be stored onboard in the holding tank before being transferred the Alba na Mara, which will be working in the same area, for tagging purposes. Some collected fish that are not required for tagging purposes will be retained as stock for the Aultbea site. Staff accommodation will be shore based and they will join the vessel at Aultbea each morning. Normal contacts will be maintained with the Laboratory and with the Alba na Mara. Staff will return to Aberdeen on 16 April.
