Objectives | Objective
1. To undertake sidescan sonar, ROV and / or UTV surveys of Little Loch Broom, to follow up the initial surveys (UTV and sonar) carried out in 2009 as part of an ongoing investigation into unlicensed dumping. Procedure One member of scientific staff and all the UTV equipment will already be on the Alba na Mara from Part 1 of the cruise. Additional scientific staff and equipment will be transported to Ullapool on 24 February. The Alba na Mara will depart Ullapool as soon as possible on 25 February, and proceed south to Little Loch Broom where the surveys outlined in objective 1 will be undertaken. A predefined area will initially be surveyed by sidescan sonar and any objects of interest further investigated by ROV and / or drop frame UTV. On completion of these surveys, the Alba na Mara will return to Ullapool on or before 27 February for unloading on 28 February 2010. |
