1. To collect video footage from Crown Estate lease areas to assist in the macro benthos, substrate and biotype identification.
2. To trial mulitbeam echosounder on Alba Na Mara.
3. To locate lost RDCP in Loch Linnhe.

Procedures

Providing weather conditions are suitable, MRV Alba Na Mara will depart from Oban on 21 September to undertake a search for a missing RDCP in Loch Linnhe. The vessel will return to Oban to disembark P Copland on 21 September before heading for southwest Tiree to groundtruth the Argyll offshore windfarm site using the dropframe TV.

On completion of the groundtruthing at southwest Tiree, passage will be made to southwest Mull of Kintyre to repeat the groundtruthing survey work. If conditions are favourable, multibeam survey work will be trialed off the Mull of Kintyre

Contingency work may include surveying in Kyle Rhea or around Islay. MRV Alba Na Mara will complete a port call at Oban to exchange scientific staff on 28 September. On completion of the survey work, MRV Alba Na Mara will unload at Greenock on 4 October 2012. Normal contacts will be maintained with the laboratory.
