PurposeFisheries
Objectives1. To participate in the ICES Young Herring Survey hauls with the Dutch herring trawl to be made in each of the I8 rectangles allocated to RV CIROLANA in the central and southern North Sea. Up to 4 hauls to be made per rectangle
for herring and gadoids according to the degree of priority set for each
rectangle by the ICES North Sea Young Herring Working Group.
2. To attempt to sample 0-group herring, within the length range 20-40 m, using a Boothbay Net.
3. To make temperature and salinity observations (surface and seabed) within
each of the rectangles fished.
