| Objectives | The Marine institute is carrying out a deepwater fisheries survey on the northern east Atlantic shelf edge west of Ireland. It is planned to link this survey to the existing deepwater survey carried out by Marlab in Scotland every year. For this purpose an intercalibration is needed that requires the two vessels to carry out fishing tows in the same area. The FRV Scotia has been fishing in the area 9W - 9 5'W, 56 3'N - 57N and it is proposed to use this area for comparative fishing tows between the two vessels. |
