| Objectives | The trip is part of the ICES International Herring Larvae Survey programme. Work includes the regular collection of the frequency and distribution of herring larvae in the spawning areas of the autumn-spawning North Sea herring stocks. They are coordinated by ICES and carried out in this form since 1972. Other North Sea countries are involved in addition to the Federal Republic of Germany. The results provide an important, independent of the basis for fisheries stock assessment and provide data for the determination of scientific quotas.
Collect data of the distribution of herring larvae. Obtain hydrographical data. |
