Purpose | Research |
Objectives | The cruise is part of the German Small-Scale Bottom Traml Survey and the ICES co-ordinated International Herring Larvae Surveys (IHLS) in 2012/13. The aim is to continued the long-term investigation of winter bottom fish assemblages through sampling of the standard area "Box A" (German Bight), and to estimate the distribution and abundance of North Sea herring larvae for assessment purposes. The larvae samples are taken on a standard grid with a station to station distance of approx. 10 nm. Used gear is a modified GULF III plankton sampler (Nackthai). |
