PurposeResearch
Objectives1) International pelagic trawl survey of young gadoids
2) Scyphomedusae taken with the trawl were measured and counted
3) Carboys of seawater were collected at a station within the FLEX box
4) Samples of sprat, sandeels and group-0 gadoids were collected and frozen for the determination of weight-length relationships.
5) Sprat ovaries were preserved for Dr Bailey
6) Young gadoids were deep frozen for Dr Mackie (TRS)
7) Approximately 50 line-caught cod, haddock, and whiting were brought back alive for use in the aquarium

''Explorer'' called at Scrabaster on the 17/06/1976 to change crew members. The mid-cruise break took place from the 22/06/1976 till the 23/06/1976. 2 days were spent lying at anchor in Lerwick Bay to await a replacement crew member
