ObjectivesObjectives

1. To undertake groundtruthing survey work in connection with potential floating offshore wind and wave renewable energy developments located on the east and north coast of Scotland.

Procedure

MRV Alba na Mara will depart from Fraserburgh harbor am on 7 July. The nature of the work will be heavily dependant on the prevailing weather conditions encountered. The proposed survey work for the north and east coast of Scotland (Figure 1) is very similar to the work undertaken during previous surveys. The survey work will involve the deployment of the TV drop frame and, where practical, the deployment of a day grab. Some additional bathymetric survey work and aggassiz trawling may also be undertaken.

MRV Alba na Mara will complete a half landing at Fraserburgh/Scrabster on 14 May to exchange scientific staff. On completion of the survey work the vessel will unload at Ullapool harbour on 22 July. Normal contacts will be maintained with the laboratory.
