Objectives | The cruise SO202-INOPEX is central to the interdisciplinary Innovative North Pacific Experiment (INOPEX), funded by the German Ministry of Education and Science and led and coordinated by scientists from the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research (AWI) in Bremerhaven. INOPEX amalgamates national and international expertise in the application of modern biogeochemical and paleoceanographic, as well as dating methods to produce a major step towards a more substantial understanding of past climate processes involving the ocean and atmosphere as well as continental ice (during glacial periods) in the polar North Pacific realm. |
