| Objectives | Long-term monitoring of cetacean abundance in the northeast Atlantic with minke whales as the target species. Surveys are conducted over six-year periods with a mosaic coverage of sub-areas to provide a complete coverage of the Northeast Atlantic at the end of a six-year period. The surveys are conducted under oversight of the IWC Scientific committee which receives annual survey reports and data sets for Implementation Reviews under of North Atlantic minke whales which are conducted at about 6 years' intervals. |
