ObjectivesThis cruise was dedicated to the recovery of four and deployment of five deep ocean RAMA moorings and the recovery of two deep ocean subsurface (Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler) ADCP moorings. The moorings were a part of the Research Moored Array for African-Asian-Australian Monsoon Analysis and Prediction (RAMA). This array is part of a multi-national effort to provide data essential for monitoring, understanding, and predicting basin scale ocean-atmosphere variability such as the Asian monsoon, the Indian Ocean Dipole, and the Madden-Julian Oscillation. Conductivity, Temperature and Depth (CTD) operations were conducted after every Mooring buoy deployment and retrieval locations.
