1. To capture pristine quality gadoid specimens for behaviour experiments back at lab. 2. To demonstrate covid safe operation of Alba. Procedures The fishing locations will be ascertained prior to sailing in conjunction with the skipper taking into consideration weather conditions and time and distance. Landing port will be either Fraserburgh or Aberdeen depending on fishing location whereupon live fish will be transported back to Fish behaviour unit. Auto jiggers will be deployed when on location. If sufficient bait is captured and there are signs of fish being present fish traps will be deployed. Fish traps will be deployed when sufficient bait has been captured and echo sounder shows evidence of fish. |
