Objectives | 1. To examine the nature of the Azores spreading centre, to map its junction with the Mid Atlantic Ridge, and to examine the effect of the adjacent Azores hot spot on the structure of the Mid Atlantic Ridge crest.
2. To obtain reconnaissance coverage of the north-eastern part, and to make a detailed survey of the rest, in particular to determine its south-western extent. |
