''Explorer'' stopped in Stornoway from the 13/09/1979 till the 15/09/1979 to carry out minor boiler repairs. 2 Dutch Gulf III plankton nets were collect from the DAFS research station at Lock Ewe on the 17/09/1979. Sea conditions prevented any use being made of the television camera or of the neuston net
