ObjectivesTo study the transition form continental crust to oceanic crust beneath the continental margin in the South Western Approaches sometimes known as the Armorican margin of the Bay of Biscay. It was especially intented to examine the nature of the continent-ocean boundary and the variation in thickness and properties of the deep continental crust beneath the rise.
