Project 14/79 was designed to provide regional geophysical coverage of the Foula, of the IGS 1:250,000 map series, on a N-S, E-W grid of lines at approximately 15km and 9km spacing. A number of gravity lines were also to be run over the Orkney sheet to complete gravity coverage in that area. In addition, some regional geophysical lines were to be surveyed on the Halibut Bank sheet after a study of the FLAGS pipeline route with the Huntec deep tow boomer. 18 surveyed lines Short sand bank survey off Peterhead 416km were surveyed along the pipeline with the Huntec deep tow boomer. 6 regional geophysical lines were run in the northern half of the Halibut Bank sheet. 1900km of data was collected S40 and S75 gravity meters Magnetometer run on lines 3-18 Sesimic equipment: sparker, watergun or airgun, deep towed boomer and pinger. |
