PurposeResearch
ObjectivesTo complete the geophysical survey of the Indefatigable and Spun sheets of the IGS 1:250 000 amp series in advance of a bottom sampling programme to be carried out by the Institute of Geological Sciences Marine Geology Unit later in the season, and to re-run several lines surveyed in 1979 on the Flemish Bight Sheet. The inshore limit of the survey was controlled by the 15m depth contour. A secondary objective was to run one line along a propsed pipeline route on the California Sheet.

Equipment trials were conducted. After the completion of the trial lines 1-8 were surveyed. Data quality was good despite poor weather.
