1) To investigate the role of the microbiota in primary production and nutrient recycling processes in oligotrophic shelf waters.
2) To continue the studies of the copepod Calanus helgolandicus in shelf seas.
3) To ascertain the horizontal and vertical structure of the biological and physical environment around CS2.
4) To contribute towards a seasonal study of phytoplankton at station A1 (Joint MBA/IMER project).
