Objectives1) To conduct a mid-water trawling and echo-survey for blue whiting in the area between the Faroes and eastern Iceland
2) The Marconi echo-sounder was run continuously in water deeper than 100 fathoms
3) Samples of ovaries and testes from blue whiting were collected for histological examination

The ''netzonde winch'' broke down during a haul and the cable could not be retrieved by hand, so it was cut. Trawling continued with the Furuno Transducer.
