| Objectives | Main purpose was to comeplete a detailed survey of a system of submarine canyons on the continental slope 250 miles WSW of Lands End.
In the Bristol Channel make a continuous seismic profiling and magnetometer survey and make several E-W traverses in the Celtic Sea using the sparker and magnetometer.
In the submarine canyon area: lay 2 current meters to record bottomr currents; complete the detailed bathymetric survey of the canyon; take a series of grab, core and dredge samples; and record surface sediment features by underwater photography. |
