| Objectives | 1. To measure the benthic biomass as an appropriate site with little seasonal change near 31N 20W and its distribution between different taxonomic, functional and size categories, for comparison with similar data from a site 48 50'N 16 30'W sampled in 1989 and subject to substantial deep winter mixing.
2. To monitor the behaviour and movements of macrourid fishes using a pop-up vehicle baited with ingestible acoustic tags. 3. To study aspects of the physiology of midwater animals and in particular the reactions of crustaceans to illuminated trawls. |
