| Objectives | To evaluate the performance of the upgraded 300 kHz sector scanning sonar. To evaluate the precision of estimates of geographical position with data storage tags recording tidal height.
Sonar performance was evaluated by observing a known wreck and acoustic tags at various ranges. A data storage tag was deployed at the sea bed on a small instrument frame, together with a recording current meter at two positions where slack water is a) in phase and b) out of phase with high and low tide. |
