| Objectives | 1. To assess and quantify escape behaviour in square mesh extensions in relation to fish encounter rate.
2. To evaluate a SIMRAD MS971 acoustic scanner for monitoring RCTV position in relation to the net. 3. To assess the performance for a DC motor drive system and the existing AC drive system with the aim of reducing video interference. 4. To assess the long term performance characteristics of the RCTV using the DC drive system. Tests carried out in the laboratory prior to the cruise demonstrated the DC motor system to be inoperative rendering objectives three and four impossible. |
