Purpose | Fisheries |
Objectives | 1. To obtain estimates of distribution and abundance of Nethrops in the Firth of Forth, Fladen Ground and North Minch using underwater television. If time permits, the survey will include stations at the Noup and Moray Firth.
2. To collect samples of the sediment at each TV station. 3. To make use of the TV survey to estimate the densities of whelks and other shellfish species of potential commercial importance. 4. To carry out Nephrops trawling in each stratum throughout the survey areas for size composition analysis and examination of biological features. |
