| Objectives | 1. To carry out a survey of scallop stocks in Shetland waters.
2. To collect biological data on scallop growth rates and component tissue weights. 3. To sample by-catch species and make Whelk morphometric measurements. During the survey 41 dredge hauls were made, each of duration 30 minutes. 2855 scallops were caught and measured. Catch rates were calculated from various areas around Shetland. 4 hauls were used for growth measurements and another 4 were used for meat weight measurements. |
