Measurements | |
Physical oceanography | |
CTD stations | Quantity: number of stations = 47 Description: Towed undulating self-logging FSI CTD profiler. Profiles used to assess presence of any stratification within water column. |
Subsurface temperature and salinity measurements | Quantity: number of stations = 4 Description: Sea water collected from surface for analysis onshore of conductivity/salinity, to compare with/validate CTD measurements of same. |
Biology and fisheries | |
Zooplankton | Quantity: number of stations = 47 Description: Gulf VII-type towed plankton sampler, deployed in 'V'-shaped profile from surface to near bottom and back to surface. Zooplankton and eggs/larvae collected using 270 micron and 80 micron mesh nets with self-logging flow meter units. Samples preserved in formalin for analysis on shore as described under 'objectives'. |
