| Objectives | To assess the performance of a new codend cover design for sampling live fish escaping from trawl codends for use in survival experiments. The key objectives during the cruise will be to:
1) Determine the effects of the cover upon the trawl, in terms of drag and gear geometry. 2) Measure water flow within the cover and around the trawl codend. 3) Develop and test acoustically operated release mechanisms for the remote operation of the cover. |
