ObjectivesA regional geophysical survey of the UK continental shelf north of 62 degN. The seismic equipment deployed comprised a pinger, PES towfish, two hydrophones, sparker and airguns. A survey grid of 24 tow lines was undertaken, with a total along track distance of 3329 km. The cruise represented the first phase of mapping in the area, to be followed at a later date by seabed sampling and shallow drilling, with the combined data being used to produce geological maps of the region.
