Purpose | Research |
Objectives | This cruise followed the systematic sonar mapping campaign of JR09a by carrying out detailed geological and geophysical surveys along the East Scotia Ridge. The base maps provided by the 1995 HAWAII-MR1 survey allowed very precise targeting of rock sampling and seismic survey lines. Cruise JR12 aimed to define the three-dimensional structure of an anomalous region of the Ridge by collecting seismic data along closely-spaced profiles and deploying disposable sonobuoys. |
