|Objectives||1. To obtain scallop samples for PSP analysis from the area of the east coast scallop grounds now closed under the Food Protection (Emergency Prohibition) (Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning) (No 7) Order 1993.
2. To take water samples for phytoplankton analysis.
A total of 22 fifteen minute tows were made using two scallop dredges attached to a towing bar. Water samples were preserved in Lugols for subsequent examination for toxin producing dinoflagelltes.
