ObjectivesOverall aims of the project are to measure the impact of nutrients on the primary productivity in the Irish Sea using new techniques such as fast rate repetition fluorometry (FRRF) and pulse amplitude modulation fluorometry (PAM). This is sought accomplished by occupying selected tidal stations as well as carry out transects. Measured parameters are fluorescence, SPM, Chl a, HPLC, optical properties, particle size, and phytoplankton composition.

The plan was to carry out 13-25 hour tidal stations on stations GY-T1 (25 hr), DB-T1 (25 hr), AB-T1 (25hr), CB-T1(25hr), and LB-T1(25hr). Additionally, to carry out two transects between stations LB-T1 to GY-T1 and between AB-T1 to CB-T1 in order to document the spatial variation. All stations were visited according to plan, excepth AB-T1, which was only occupied for 13 hrs.
