ObjectivesTo test tin tow nets:
(a) to test flow characteristics;
(b) trials with new flow meters in the pup samplers;
(c) testing new net indicator in the changing net device;
(d) to test the effect of clogging in the main filter.
2. To investigate escape from pup samplers.
3. To collect samples of blood from East Anglian herring.
4. To collect live sole for Dr. Purdom, live cod for Dr. Walker and live plaice for Mr Riley.

A few live plaice and cod were retained from the Well Bank area for Messrs. Replicate hauls with the 30-inch tin tow net and 'pup' samplers were completed off Southwold. Trawling for sole near Sizewell Bank was carried out at slack water
