PurposeTrials
Objectives1. Design evaluation trials, full scale manoeuvring trials and stabiliser
trials to be carried out by personnel of B.S.R.A. , N.P.L. and W.F.A.
Staff to be exchanged at Plymouth on 1st and 7th October, as necessary.
2. Stabiliser trials also to be carried out in the neighbourhood of Portland,
in conjunction with A.U.W.E. on September 28th and 29th.
3. Manoeuvrability with trawl down to be tested.

Speed, manoeuvring with and without trawl, and stablilising trials were carried out in a variety of weather conditions. Several trawl hauls were made in the Sizewell area and a sample of live soles was brought in.
