PurposeResearch
Objectives1) To survey the abundance and distribution of 0-group gadoids in mid-water between latitudes 57 degrees and 61 degrees North, and 03 degrees West and 04 degrees East.
2) To undertake trials of the Aberdeen fish counting equiptment
3) To take routine samples of the organic and inorganic environments
4) Deep frozen samples of fish and medusae were obtained for the determination of weight-length relationships

On the 28/07/1972 a call was made at Lerwick till the 29/07/1972 for water and mail. A brief stop was made at Invergordon from the 03/08/1972 to disembark a fishing mate who was later collected at Peterhead on the 05/08/1972 with another crew member and a sick crew member was put ashore
