Bad weather caused ''Mara'' to return to Aberdeen on the 25/10/1962. Departure from Aberdeen was delayed because of unsuitable weather conditions, and the scientific crew proceeded to Berwick-upon-Tweed by road. The ship arrived in Berwick on the 02/11/1962. Strong winds curtailed work for the rest of the cruise. The scientists remained to tag crabs at Burnmouth for 3 further days

Description: Taggings. Lunan Bay and Tod Head: 56 with suture tags, 24 with claw tags. Burnmouth: 344 tagged by the suture method, 346 by the Gundersen's method. After being tagged, the crabs were usually kept at least overnight, in boxes in the harbour until they were released. Crabs which had died were not released.
