1) To determine the effects of intense pulsed low frequencey sound and artificial light on fish 2) To carry out first sea trials of the sector scanning sonar system 3) To conduct pelagic trawling trials Part 2 To carry out routine pollution surveys on Loch Eil ''Mara'' docked at Greenock on the 22/11/1968. During passage the compressed air sound source ('airgun') was tested and calibrated. New crew members embarked the ship on the 23/11/1968 and the sector scaning sonar was installed. Large numbers of saithe and some cod fished by hand lines, sprats, Euphausids, Meganyctiphanes norvegica and Pasiphaeasp. were also caught |
