Ship name (ship code)RRS James Cook (740H)
Cruise identifierJC023B
Cruise period2008-03-26 — 2008-04-18
StatusCompleted
Port of departureValparaiso, Chile
Port of returnValparaiso, Chile
PurposeResearch
ObjectivesHigh-resolution active seismic investigations of slump structures and seep sites along the accreationary Chilean continental margin. Ocean-Bottom-Seismometers, multichannel seismic streamer and deep towed sidescan data were acquired using high frequent GI airguns as source. Gravity cores were taken for ground truthing.
