Leg 5: The objectives of the cruise were twofold: to complete the sampling of the Fladen Sheet and to carry out a reconnaissance survey of the Fair Isle Sheet. The weather was excellent during the first ten days of the cruise but then deteriorated, necessitating some changes in the programme. One hundred and sixteen stations were occupied in the Fladen area and 55 stations in the Fair Isle area. |
