Objectives | Objective
1. To undertake fish sampling in the Solway in support of the CSEMP biomarker monitoring studies. Narrative FRS staff traveled to Millport on Wednesday 7 February and joined the UMBS RV Aora. All scientific gear was loaded and the vessel departed from her berth at 2000 and sailed overnight to the Solway Firth. Fishing for plaice was conducted on the morning of 8 February and passage made back to Millport. Fish samples were processed for biological effects and chemical analyses aboard the vessel and samples cryo-preserved in liquid nitrogen. FRS staff disembarked and returned to Aberdeen on Friday 9 February. |
