The ship landed a sick seaman in Lerwick on the 17/08/1973. Explorer lay in Thorshavn from the 31/08/1973 till the 02/09/1973 to take part in Overflow '73. 2 brief calls were made at Kirkwall. ''Explorer'' returned to Kirkwall to land a crew member and again on the 08/09/1973 till the 09/09/1973
