Gales drastically curtailed work throughout the cruise. ''Explorer'' put into Lerwick on the 12/11/1973 till the 13/11/1973 and the Simrad echosounder was repaired. An injured deckhand was put ashore on the 14/11/1973 in Lerwick and a sick stoker was landed at Kirkwell on the 17/11/1973
