Description
Summary

The sea level is recorded at five sites around the coast of Greenland: Ammassalik: 65° 37'N 37° 37'W; July 1990 - present Sisimiut/Holsteinsborg: 66° 56'N 53° 45'W; Sept. 1991 - present Qaqortoq/Julianehab: 60° 43'N 46° 02'W; Sept. 1991 - present Nuuk/Godthab: 64° 11'N 51° 45'W; June 1992 - present Ilulissiat/Jacobshavn: 69° 13'N 51° 06'W; June 1992 - present The aim of collecting sea level data regularly at these sites is to obtain long time series for tidal analysis and prediction, but also to supply data to international projects such as Nordic WOCE and GLOSS. The data are stored on diskettes at the gauge sites. The data are transferred to the data center, calibrated and quality controlled by the data holder. The quality controlled data are stored to the nearest centimeter in a data base.
