Description
Summary

Activities in wave energy extraction started in 1978. They include theoretical analysis of Oscillating Water Column (OWC) wave energy devices, both in the frequency domain and time domain, as well as experimental work in the laboratory. Computer codes for the design and analysis of OWC devices have been developed, including the power take-off equipment. The design of a 300 kW wave power plant is underway at the island of Pico in the Azores.
